欧州のMotorola Mobile Devices部門を率いるGreg Estell氏は、今年の3GSM World Congressでは「3Gの世界を、好みのライフスタイルにぴったり合わせて楽しめる、幅広いラインナップの発表を行う」と語っており、E1060は「熱狂的な音楽ファン」に向けた製品発表になっているという。E1060には、MPEG-4/WMV/WMA/MP3に全対応するマルチメディアプレイヤー機能が標準搭載されており、同社は「真の意味でマルチメディアを追求できる」携帯電話として紹介を行ったとされる。
