『サウス・バイ・サウスウェスト』(SXSW)音楽祭で何百曲もの新曲を聴くために、音楽ファンたちがテキサス州オースティンに滞在する必要はない。
SXSWでは何年もの間、音楽祭に参加するバンドのMP3ファイルのライブラリーをウェブサイト上で無料で提供してきた。今年は、ピアツーピア(P2P)のファイル共有アプリケーション『ビットトレント』を使い、リスナーがさらに簡単に楽しめるようにした。750曲を超える楽曲を巨大なビットトレント・ファイル(2.6GB)にまとめて、無料でダウンロードできるようにしたのだ。
