2004年秋、六本木ヒルズを使って大々的にお披露目をしたオリンパスの「m:robe」と「i:robe」。白くてファッショナブルで新しいデジタルライフ（オリンパスのWebサイトによると「New Photo Life Solution」）を実現しようという新ブランドだ。今までのキャメディアやμ Digitalに続く新ブランドになるか、という興味以前に、この「robe」ってイマイチ何を目指しているのかわかりづらい。その辺を解題しつつ製品に迫ってみよう。
