ポッドキャスト専用ラジオ局が登場--米サンフランシスコ

サンフランシスコで米国時間16日、リスナーが制作したポッドキャストのみを取り扱う放送局KYOURadioが開局した。
同局を所有するInfinity Broadcastingによると、KYOURadioは、すべてのコンテンツがポッドキャストだけで構成される初めての放送局だという。
ポッドキャストは、2004年の誕生以来、大きなブームとなっている。この技術を使えば、一般個人であってもウェブを利用して音声コンテンツを配信することができる。リスナーはダウンロードしたコンテンツを、Apple Computerの「iPod」のようなデジタル音楽プレイヤーで再生することが可能だ。
