社団法人日本音楽著作権協会(JASRAC)、社団法人日本芸能実演家団体協議会、社団法人日本レコード協会など音楽関係7団体は、iPodなどのデジタルオーディオプレーヤーを私的録音保証金適用の政令指定化を求める声明を発表した。
28日に文化庁が文化審議会著作権分科会法制問題小委員会を開催。iPodなどのHDD内蔵型録音機器などについて、MDなどと同様の私的録音補償金制度の対象とする政令指定について方向性が示される予定だった。しかし、今回の小委員会では結論が出ず、先送りされた。
そのため、今回の会見では関連団体からの意見の表明するに留まっており。iPodなどへの政令指定を強く求める姿勢を再度強調した。
